Panelists:

  • Jeremy Wells, Senior Vice President of Philanthropic Services at the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, serving both on the AdNet Board and the Program Committee, will moderate the discussion.
  • Jenn Holcomb, Vice President of Government Affairs and Legal Resources at the Council on Foundations, based in Arlington, VA, has been closely tracking the public discourse surrounding DAFs for many years. With her expertise in government affairs and legal resources, she will provide valuable insights into this complex topic.
  • Nancy Brown, President & CEO of the Winona Community Foundation, brings a wealth of experience in philanthropy and fundraising. Her involvement with the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the AFP Political Action Committee, the only federal PAC focused on growing and preserving charitable giving, adds a unique perspective to the conversation.

During this peer exchange, each panelist will have 5-7 minutes to share their insights and perspectives. For the remaining time, Jeremy will open with questions that have been submitted in advance during registration. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask additional questions, contributing to a robust and engaging conversation.

As we well know, a community foundation is a unique model for philanthropy that offers distinct opportunities and challenges for advancement professions. Even if you have come from the nonprofit sector, there’s a lot to learn and absorb when you are new to this field.

This session will offer a brief educational overview and additional resources, a break-out group discussion with your peers, and a Q&A time with senior-level AdNet members.
